Question about BTO's previously being unarmed
[edit]In the article, it says "BTO's were unarmed unless they were the Desk Officer, a Supervisor, or transporting revenue money. The reason for officers being unarmed was to prevent armed robberies at the toll booths." My question is if the TBTA wanted to prevent armed robberies, wouldnt they have armed BTO's so they can defend themselves and the money? Is this an error in the article? Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority "POLICE"
[edit]TBTA BTO's do not have the word "police" stated anywhere on their marked vehicles, shields, or patches; furthermore, they are identified as "BTO's" (Bridge and Tunnel Officers). Although some peace officer departments in the state of New York may identify themselves as a "Police Department" (Sea Gate, NYC Health and Hospital Corporation), The officers of the TBTA do not, and never have. It is misleading and inaccurate nomenclature to label this article as the "Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority Police" rather, the entire article should either be moved into the general TBTA article OR be labeled appropriately "TBTA Bridge and Tunnel Officers". The Court Officers wiki page is an excellent example (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_State_Court_Officers). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.197.225 (talk) 14:15, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

Article or redirect?
[edit]There's no need for this to be an article, since there's nothing in it that isn't covered in Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority#Law enforcement. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:52, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
- What are you talking about? The old standalone article had a picture of the shoulder patch and a table of the different ranks and how many stripes each had [1]. That's not, like, fancrufty or anything, because a reader who gets pulled over might want to quickly check Wikipedia so he can address the officer by the appropriate title. - I generally find that when I'm pulled over, a hearty "What the hell is your problem, dipwad?" usually sets the right tone. And the good thing is that it works just as well with lowly Bridge and Tunnel Officers as with a four-star Chief. (BTW, where are the Majors and Colonels?)
