Initial comments
[edit]Since "Unfold" and its accompanying lyric video are relatively new, there are not many secondary sources available to cite, which is why there are mostly quotes from Porter Robinson himself in the references. As he starts doing interviews for Nurture and "Unfold", this problem can be fixed. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 06:29, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to Unfold (song). Per consensus (closed by non-admin page mover) – robertsky (talk) 13:28, 16 September 2022 (UTC)
Unfold (Porter Robinson song) → Unfold (Porter Robinson and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs song) – Both artists are notable and co-credited on equal footing for this song. I'm pretty sure that the disambiguator qualifier should include all co-credited artists, especially if only a couple are co-credited. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! Proposing merge, July 25, 2023
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- Not merged — withdrawn. Sources were provided that establish "Unfold"'s notability. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 13:12, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
I'm proposing that this article be merged with Nurture (album) as article creator. Talking a look at the references list as it stands now, it's composed of either primary sources or pieces that discuss "Unfold" as a track on Nurture, rather than its own song. Though "Unfold" did chart on Billboard, it could be argued that it still fails WP:NSINGLE due to the sources issue. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 10:15, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose I found sources that discuss "Unfold" specifically: [1] [2] [3] Skyshifter talk 12:43, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Skyshifter: Thanks for the sources; I'm not sure how they evaded me when I was searching a few days ago. I'll incorporate them into the article later this week, but it's safe to say no more to do in this discussion. Therefore, Request withdrawn; closing. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 13:12, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Comments
[edit]The song is the only listed collaboration on Nurture [note 1] and Robinson has stated that this was a contributing factor in making the song a callback to his debut album Worlds (2014).
— This reads a little run-on-y; maybe replace the "and" with a semicolon?- Done —TS
"Unfold" released to general critical acclaim, and a lyric video for the song was released on May 19, 2021.
— I'm not sure if these two clauses are sufficiently related to be in the same sentence.- Rephrased —TS
- That "Wind Tempos" features instrumental contributions from Masakatsu Takagi is not verified by the cited source, although there is a source in the album article that mentions this.
- Good catch! The claim is also verified by the Apple Music description, so I used that instead. Done. —TS
- There is no source provided regarding "Fullmoon Lullaby".
- Not done as the album is used as the implied primary source here. —TS
- Fair enough. Dylan620 (he/him • talk • edits) 20:33, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Not done as the album is used as the implied primary source here. —TS
- The NME source does not validate the material it cites; did you mean to cite this instead?
- Whoops, looks like I got those Ben Jolley / NME sources mixed up! Done. —TS
David Klemow feels
— the verb tense here is inconsistent with the cited critic opinions throughout the rest of the article.- Done —TS
- The same sentence containing the above clause could probably be split in half; it feels a bit like a run-on as is.
- Done —TS
Robinson made the decision to move it towards the conclusion of the record
— maybe mention that he had originally wanted to place the song near the front?- Done —TS
My current thinking is that this article is close to meeting the criteria, but not quite there just yet. Putting on hold. Dylan620 (he/him • talk • edits) 19:30, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
