Attempting fixes
[edit]I've started to delete the non-specific, unsourced stuff in this article, but obviously there is a ways to go yet. I'm looking at stuff like "The Members of the Utah Republican Party are grateful to Almighty God for life and liberty" for example. Please discuss.--Thelema12 (talk) 21:11, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
Republican
[edit]Why "Utah" is much more likely to be Republican? Why is it much more common for "Utah" is much more likely to be Republican? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.100.125.108 (talk) 12:32, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
I am no expert on Utah, but this state has voted for a Republican candidate in every Presidential election since 1968. The last Democratic candidate to win Utah was Lyndon B. Johnson in the United States presidential election, 1964.
According to List of United States Senators from Utah, the last Utah Senator who was not a Republican was Frank Moss. His term ended in 1977.
According to United States congressional delegations from Utah, the last Utah Representative who was not a Republican was Jim Matheson. His term ended in 2015.
According to List of Governors of Utah, the last Utah Governor who was not a Republican was Scott M. Matheson. His term ended in 1985.
In other words, this state has been increasingly dominated by Republicans for decades. Dimadick (talk) 19:08, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
