Lame DYK
[edit]On every festival lamps are lit. Many pujas have lamp offering ritual. Lamps are given as daan in some and lamps are also offered to rivers. The original DYK of "... that Brahmin ladies, specialized in making cotton wicks offer 125,000 of these to the deities Shiva and Vishnu (pictured) on this occasion at Varanasi Temple?" was a better one.
Its just a note, no protest or detest or objection. I appreciate all editor's contributions in this article. But please keep Indian readers in mind also and not just western readers. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 19:03, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
