Powdery mildew is a problem in cooler weather or where air movement is poor. V. nitens does not like a high level of nutrition, it grows in impoverished sand and a good level of soil aeration is important.

Apologies. The new ref discusses fine leaved verticordia, but is not 'specific'. George gives extensive cultivation notes, it requires a bit of work to weave them in; she makes much of moisture content and rainfall, general notes will probably discuss this. cygnis insignis 17:55, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
