Copyvio check

[edit]

Earwig says good to go. Quotations used—rarely—are in-line with WP:COPYQUOTE and only very short extracts.

Files

[edit]

All images relevant and free:

  • File:WLTZ Local NBC 38 logo.png: good, valid non-free rationale;
  • File:Wltz dt2 2010.png: good, valid public domain rationale;
  • File:AFLAC Tower Columbus Georgia.jpg: good, CC-BY-SA 3.0, uploaded to Commons by registered user.

Prose

[edit]
  • I doubt the first ref in the lead is necessary, given its cited elsewhere and the lead has no other citations.
  • "section of East Columbus (postal address is actually Buena Vista Road in Columbus)" – maybe convert this into an efn note?
  • "three groups applied for television stations in Columbus," – wikilink Columbus as first mention in the body; likewise:
  • First mentions of ABC and NBC should also be wikilinked.
  • The sentence starting "WYEA-TV would prove to be a challenge as the group's first property," reads a bit too long for me. Perhaps it is possible to add a full stop somewhere?
  • "However, many of these changes were later trimmed back for economic reasons by Lewis." – is economic reasons the right word? Also:
  • Lewis is only first mentioned later in the article.
  • "By the start of 1981, American Family owned six stations, WYEA-TV and five outlets in larger markets" – recommend replacing the last comma with an em dash for better flow.
  • "beginning to brand as "Z-38"," – recommend "beginning to brand itself as "Z-38",".
  • "the station briefly had the first Black anchor on Columbus television," do the sources have a date for when this was? Seems noteworthy if possible.
  • "anchor Suzanne Hudson said the news was "like taking a knife to our throat" and left her "absolutely floored"." – is this relevant? It reads a bit too much like a news article quoting a miscellaneous anchor.
  • "In 2012, the station restored local news production from Columbus." – pretty short, I would merge this into the above paragraph.

Refs

[edit]

All sources are RS. Passes spotcheck. No concerns with refs 1, 5, 12, 22, 30 or 39.

  • Ref 39 is missing a date.
  • Ref 41: I believe "wltz.com" should be "WLTZ"?

Other

[edit]

Infobox, navs, cats and other templates all good.

  • Recommend adding template:Use X English.
  • Could "alt=Refer to caption" be improved? Even just saying "a skyscraper with blue letters "Aflac", the l obstructed by a duck, at its top left" etc. should work.
