Opening date(s) and first name
[edit]Maybe the Big Book of The Great Western Railway sheds light on this but when the Mainline station opened is something I have not found ckearly stated on the web'
This site http://www.historytalk.org/Notting%20Hill%20History%20Timeline/timelinechap3.pdf seems to say that it was opened, as Green Bridge Lane station, when the Metropolitan Ry came in the 1860s.--SilasW (talk) 12:56, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, here's a reference to the station in 1861, in the Northern Echo: First recorded trainspotter was not man clad in anorak but 14-year-old girl Fanny Johnson, citing a 1935 article in GWR magazine. Onanoff (talk) 10:19, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
Bus routes
[edit]The long list of bus routes is a little misleading, especially for anyone who has walking difficulties. The only buses that actually stop at the station and the stop opposite are 28, N28, 31, N31, and 328. 36 and 18 run E-W along Harrow Road (A404), with the nearest stops about 450-500 meters from the station. 7 and 70 run E-W along Westbourne Park Road (B412) with the nearest stops about 350 meters from the station and downhill from it. While the 23 bus is based at the bus garage, it doesn't take on passengers there - the closest 23 stop is in Elkstone Road, about 250 meters from the station and down a fairly steep slope. Are there any guidelines for including them? --Marcus Rowland (talk) 23:41, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
