reassessed

[edit]

This article is most definitely not a B class article, especially because it has no sources and needs to meet many other wikipedia standards. I also changed it to a mid class, which it may not even meet. Acidskater 02:59, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Look again. There is a source. There is a reference. There is a correct template for that so I am removing the one placed here.

As far as the rating if you are going to reasses it you need to say why. I will wait to hear from you on that before I change your rating.

Article worth keeping?

Notablilty? Probability of further references? Thoughts anyone?--Amadscientist (talk) 22:48, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think finding additional reliable sources is going to be difficult, as the theatre itself is not very notable "today". The Ariss connection is certainly notable, but not sure if that justifies the entire article. It's hard for me to say that, because I have a fondness for the Wharf Theater, having worked on a number of early productions there, including the first production of Guys and Dolls, as well as assisting with the final renovation work leading up to that production. But, if deleted, the Ariss connection should be in the article on him (if there is one and its not already mentioned). More notable, in terms of the theatre itself, would be the original theatre and the one located downtown, now the site of the Golden State Theatre, which is now the most notable theatre in Monterey since it presents name artists of international renown. All that, of course, should be in the Monterey article. Not sure if that helps, but I thought I'd respond to your request for comments above. Smatprt (talk) 00:56, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I see in the Ariss article that his Wharf Theatre connection is mentioned, so disregard that statement above. Smatprt (talk) 01:15, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

closure

This theater seems like it has been permanently closed. TheMaggster (talk) 00:59, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
