New Photo needed
[edit]The current infobox photo is of the museum under construction and also makes the building look pink. A new photo is needed and other photos the new building, both interior and exterior, would be welcome, including the elevators which are an artwork in and of themselves. MOMA picture
[edit]It is irrelevant to discuss MOMA in this article, especially in the picture caption where it is not mentioned in the main prose. 100.12.206.17 (talk) 00:17, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
- Excuse me? First of all - it's referenced by the NY Times - [1] What are you talking about????????? MoMA is the Museum of Modern Art which has NOTHING to do with this article. However the Metropolitan Museum of Art is occupying the former building that housed the Whitney Museum of American Art, And that actually is news. We also mention the fact that the New York Studio School is housed in a building that was also once the Whitney. Leave it alone...Modernist (talk) 00:24, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
- ^ Vogel, Carol (May 11, 2011). "Met Plans to Occupy the Whitney's Uptown Site". New York Times.
- I was just pointing out that this fact seemed out of place in the picture caption, where it was not mentioned elsewhere. I did not mean to elicit such a strongly intoned response. If the reference exists, the fact should be added to the main text by all means. (By the way, I meant MMOA, not MOMA. A mistype, sorry.) 100.12.206.17 (talk) 00:42, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

Image of historical building
[edit]Beginning a discussion here regarding the image of the original building. User:Modernist prefers this image which is smaller, shows the building obscured by a truck, and cuts off portions of the structure. I prefer this recently uploaded photo which is larger, more recent, shows the full facade, has been corrected for perspective distortion, and more accurately represents the building's color. Feel free to share your thoughts below. Filetime (talk) 18:58, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- I prefer the older of the 2 photos, the one with the truck, per sense of genuine connection to the way the building has actually looked for decades...There is currently no consensus for change...Modernist (talk) 20:27, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
