This page was proposed for deletion by Davidwbaker (talk · contribs) on 23 June 2024 with the comment: Does not meet WP:GNG nor WP:ENT. Article created because subject plays a major role in a single minor event, so WP:ONEEVENT would apply. It was contested by Mushy Yank (talk · contribs) on 24 June 2024 with the comment: Not uncontroversial. |

Notability?
[edit]How does this actor and article meet the criteria for notability?
Reading the article, it doesn't appear to meet the general notability guideline (WP:GNG) or the Entertainers notability guidelines (WP:ENT), which are:
- The person has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions; or
- The person has made unique, prolific or innovative contributions to a field of entertainment.
It appears that @Baratiiman created the article on 6 Feb of this year, commenting "Now notable." The only reliable secondary source about the subject relates to how this pornographic actor went to Iran, posted some photos on social media, and has cause a social media controversy online. Their notability appears to exclusively be tied to a single event that is largely unrelated to the subject's profession as an entertainer. I question whether this reliable source reporting on this controversy establish notability as an entertainer. The subject didn't meet the notability guidelines prior to this controversy, and they still do not meet those guidelines.
I proposed this article for deletion, but that tag was removed with the comment "Not uncontroversial." I'm not sure how being controversial (or not; it's hard to understand the double negative) addresses my concerns about notability of the subject. Davidwbaker (talk) 23:32, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Davidwbaker: Per WP:PROD, ProDs are for routine and "uncontroversial" deletions out of process. "Not uncontroversial" clearly states the editor feels the deletion does not meet that standard and should be contested. Further attempts to remove the article will need a consensus at AfD. I'm unconvinced about notability myself, but I have not done a proper WP:BEFORE. • Gene93k (talk) 11:33, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- Understood, and thanks. I'll wait some time to see if any editors can provide support for notability of the subject before submitting to AfD. Davidwbaker (talk) 14:15, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
