Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles for GA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Cleanup : * Sport governing body (this should-be-major article is in a shameful state) * Field hockey (History section needs sources and accurate information - very vague at the moment.) * Standardize Category:American college sports infobox templates to use same font size and spacing. * Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."
I have tentatively added the COI tag and flagged this up on the creating editor's talk page. The reason being, this article went from nothing to fully-fledged as a single edit, by an an apparently first-time editor, which seems unusual. Would be helpful if the editor could declare an interest or otherwise explain the background. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:51, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies and I understand your reasons for flagging the page.
I don't have any particular intrest in him, but I live in the UK and have seen Mr Obaidly's name raised numerous times with regards to Newcastle United takeover by Saudi Arabia.
Upon searching for him on Google I found he had no page and thought I'd create one for him as my first page on Wikipedia. I thought I'd followed all the suggested guidlines.
I'm happy to make necessary amends to the page myself, or step away from the page now. If you think he doesn't need a Wikipedia page, please delete if you can do that (though I'd obviously be dissapointed as he seems to be famous enough). — Preceding unsigned comment added by J.W.Kate (talk • contribs) 10:23, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@J.W.Kate: Thanks for clarifying. FWIW, I'm happy with that, and certainly don't think there's any need to delete the article, as he does seem (to me) comfortably notable enough. On that basis, I'll delete the COI tag now. (Obviously I only speak for myself, and another editor may think otherwise.) Cheers, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:08, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@DoubleGrazing: Thankyou for your help! I've linked to the page from another article so it shouldn't be an orphan now. I've also removed some of the quotes. I don't want to remove the notice at the top of the page, but if you think it's okay now, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, happy for it to be left to another editor :) Thanks again.
