Merge suggestion (Spectrum ZX)[edit]

Not a suitable idea at all. This is a different company, product, decade, purpose - there's no commonality. They cross-link, that's fine. I'd be happy to see the suggestion edited off the article. JohnHarris (talk) 00:04, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It would make more sense to merge to ZX Spectrum Vega, which is just a stub. ApLundell (talk) 18:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion is very stale. 11 months is a long time in the best of cases, and things have changed a lot since then. I've gone ahead and closed the merge. (Normally I'd just remove the template and leave the stale discussions alone, but another editor has objected to that.) ApLundell (talk) 16:15, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

At the end of section 3 (current status), I propose to add:

On August 1st 2018, BBC reported that Sky, who holds the rights to the Sinclair and ZX Spectrum brands, informed campaign manager Retro Computers Ltd (RCL) that the licence to use these brand names would be revoked on 7 August 2018 [1]. vodka (talk) 13:45, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

Could anyone replace the render of the Vega+ with a photo of the real device? Marc NL (talk) 09:09, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there an image of the real device which is released under a licence that allows us to use it? If so, it would be great to have both images with the real device as the lead image. I did a quick Google search for images marked as licensed for reuse but did not find anything appropriate. --DanielRigal (talk) 10:35, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Here is one I just took
Replacement image?

Thanks. I think that is a good choice for the lead image. I have moved the concept design image to the Design section. I think it is good to have both. --DanielRigal (talk) 18:13, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Sinclair ZX Spectrum Vega+ is a released (on July 26th 2018) handheld games console based on the ZX Spectrum and designed by Rick Dickinson[1] as a follow-up to the ZX Spectrum Vega handheld TV game which was released in 2015.

Twitter : From RCL Manufacturer, see the modifications I have done, and my photo I published on twitter of the VEGA+ I received. You have both twitter links already on my exchanges.

BBC Article that was added already, it clearly states that I have NO CONFLICT of INTEREST and that the CONSOLE IS DISPATCHED since JULY 26th 2018. So it IS released and NOT UNRELEASED as the article still indicates. Saggiori (talk) 11:07, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Saggiori (talk) 11:26, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Its release status is ambiguous or ongoing but clearly some some people have received units, so I am prepared to remove "unreleased". --DanielRigal (talk) 14:02, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have now done that. Regarding the images, the image which I think that you are suggesting is unusable as it does not show the whole unit and also has something else very prominently in the background which distracts from the unit itself and could confuse readers. A couple of the other images on the Twitter thread would be OK but it is not clear whether the copyright owners licence them in a way that we can use. --DanielRigal (talk) 14:07, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Specs[edit]

Do we have any RS source for the actual specs of the delivered units? So far, all I know is that it is running Fuse. It would be good to know the CPU, CPU speed, RAM, any internal storage apart from the SD card and what it is running as an OS. If anybody can, please fill in the table below. --DanielRigal (talk) 12:17, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
