Important subject[edit]

This is an article about an important subject, concerning Japanese society and, in general, political movements and militancy in the 20th century. Yet, its content is clearly lacking. It contains critique of zengakuren but not enough information about the zengakuren movement itself. The main areas that need to be covered are

Definition of ideology.
History of schisms.
Following and influence.
Notable participants and ideologues in the movement.
Relations with foreign protest movements and Japan's urban guerillas.

Anarchist?[edit]

I have had problems coming up with evidence for the Zengakuren being anarchist. Many references are actually derived from this article. In Demanding the Impossible: A History of Anarchism, Peter Marshall describes how the Anarchists were quite weak, and then joined the Zengakuren, but it does not follow from this that were significant in the movement and the specific references perhaps should be removed?
