  • The lead could be longer and some of the citation positioning is a little funky. Also are you sure that the Blogspot sources are reliable? Other than that the article looks fine, and the QPQ check was successful. 和DITOREtails 22:30, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

  • wordplay.blogs.nytimes.com seems fine per WP:NEWSBLOG. Although I'm not convinced by the blogspot links as only the blog claims that it is related to the LA Times. Anyway those don't affect the hook in general. What I don't find in the sources is that she was born on January 11, 1914 to verify that she'll turn 100 soon. Where is her exact birth date mentioned?   • Hi folks. I am the author of the Bernice Gordon page, and her granddaughter. I will be seeing her later this week for her 100th birthday party. I don't believe the actual date itself (the 11th) has been published, just references to the month and year(deducible from her age in different articles). I may be able to get access to her birth certificate. Is that a verifiable source? As an aside, I will get more offline publication names/dates when I see her and swap out the LATimes blogs. Thanks.   • Birth certificate and/or census records (those from the 1940s and earlier) would be fine. Preferably the census records, as those are publically available (and not as dangerous to have online as a birth certificate). — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:44, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
  • The census only lists her age on the given year, no birthdate. And I agree it would be unwise to post her birth certificate publicly, so I guess this is an unfortunate impasse.Vlanard (talk) 19:44, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Source 2 (the UPenn one) certainly supports that; I've just added "January" before 1914 in the first sentence of the Personal life section so "this month" is properly inline sourced now. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:47, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
