Charles de Tricornot de Rose
- ... that "the father of French fighter aircraft" (pictured) became interested in flying whilst suspended from the French Army following a court-martial? Source: "Conséquence : le tribunal militaire le condamne à trois ans d’inactivité. Il en profite pour apprendre la mécanique et s’intéresse aux avions." which I translate as: "Consequence: the court-martial sentences him to three years suspension. He took the opportunity to learn mechanics and became interested in airplanes" from: "Centenaire 14-18: Charles de Tricornot de Rose, le créateur de l'aviation d'élite". France 3 Hauts-de-France (in French)., the father quote ("le pere de l'aviation de chasse francaise") is from Razoux, Pierre (4 November 2015). Ciel de gloires: Histoire des as au combat (in French). Flammarion. p. 18. ISBN 978-2-08-137663-2.

- ... Nice work here. New enough, long enough, no copy vio issues, hook (length okay) in article and followed by citation to foreign language sources. Image clear and free. I like the Verdun part. Being given independence to secure the sky reads well. QPQ provided. Are you able to say who says he is "the father of French fighter aircraft"? Whispyhistory (talk) 07:06, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review Whispyhistory. Good point on the attribution, it was Pierre Razoux, I've added this to the article. I also liked Petain's order, but found it a little tricky to form a hook around it - Dumelow (talk) 10:46, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks... @Dumelow:. I couldn't think of one either but there maybe something in Holstein's book and the bit about the 2 tactics he used. If you do think of one, ping me and I'll review it. Whispyhistory (talk) 13:40, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
