Clifford Braimah

[edit]

Created by Crosstemplejay (talk). Self-nominated at 10:26, 24 May 2018 (UTC).

  • The article meets the newness and length requirements, is free from plagiarism, and the article and hooks are adequately sourced. QPQ provided. However, I'm concerned about Braimah's notability: I made a search and from what I can tell, coverage about him appeared to either be routine coverage or more about Ghana Water itself than him. As such, I'm not sure if the coverage specifically about him that does exist is enough to meet the notability guidelines. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 22:09, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

Narutolovehinata5 and Maile66 Thanks for your reviews. I will leave the dyk above and its concerns to be addressed by other editors. CrossTempleJay 10:25, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
  • Regarding notability: There are news articles from at least a dozen different sources quoted on the page, and in at least eight of those Clifford Braimah is specifically mentioned in the headline either by name or as the Managing Director of the GWCL, or as the GWCL Boss. I think he'd pass a notability argument. Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 22:27, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
To test for consensus, the article has been nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clifford Braimah. If the article is kept, this DYK nomination can proceed and will be passed. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:02, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
  • You already had an answer above that this was notable. Please see WP:FORUMSHOP. As I noted on the AFD template after you pinged me, you should keep this discussion at DYK, either here or DYK talk. To open a separate AFD while also doing the DYK review makes it look like you are deliberately trying to get this nomination thrown out. Keep this at DYK. If you don't get enough discussion on this template, take it to WT:DYK. Working at both ends of the stick is a little conflict of roles. Don't ping me about this again. — Maile (talk) 23:44, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
I didn't see that message until after I had already nominated the article for deletion, and the main reason why I did so was because a message was left on my talk page. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 06:14, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

Per comment above by Mary Mark Ockerbloom, this individual meets notability. — Maile (talk) 10:53, 29 July 2018 (UTC)

  • As the AfD has been withdrawn by BlueMoonset, and consensus appears to be that Braimah meets the notability guidelines, there are no more outstanding issues, and this nomination is now approved. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:37, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Narutolovehinata5 please have another look at AFD Clifford Braimah. There has been some confusion that has reversed the closing. Regardless of why it was opened, you are the one who created the template. So, I think they are waiting for you to formally withdraw it before they can close it correctly. And this DYK nomination can not be promoted until that detail is taken care of. Thank you. — Maile (talk) 18:02, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Yes, Narutolovehinata5, please strike the inaccurate claim above that I withdrew the AfD—I did no such thing, and the AfD was yours, albeit at my suggestion prior to Mary Mark Ockerbloom's post above, and was ultimately withdrawn by you. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:26, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
