David Bennett (opera director)[edit]
- ... that David Bennett was hired as general director of the San Diego Opera after his predecessor tried unsuccessfully to shut the opera company down? Source: In March 2015 the San Diego Opera announced his hiring as general director, replacing Ian Campbell, who left in May 2014 after unsuccessfully proposing a controversial shutdown of the opera company.[1]

Interesting career, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. The hook is just fine! Suggestions for the article: Can you bring "baritone" to lead and infobox? Some frown when they read "known-for", - you might replace that by "organizations". - @Gerda Arendt: Thanks for the suggestions. I have added a little more emphasis on his singing. All I could find about his singing career is that he performed in "secondary roles", and the opera companies named are not first-rank companies. Clearly he was never notable as a singer. BTW I'm going to be out of town and pretty much unreachable after the 30th, but that gives us some days yet to work out any additional details. MelanieN (talk) 15:03, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
