Dumfriesshire Hoard

[edit]
  • ... that the newly-discovered Dumfriesshire Hoard (gold bird pin pictured) has been described by experts as "one of the most significant Viking hoards ever found in Scotland"?

Created by Prioryman (talk). Self nominated at 07:35, 14 October 2014 (UTC).

  • Interesting subject and great article - long enough, new enough, and meets guidelines. It would be wonderful for this article to have a photo, but I can't find a freely licensed photo on Flickr, Commons, or the usual sources. Dreamyshade (talk) 22:45, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
  • I've asked permission to use some images, but unfortunately I've not had a reply yet. Prioryman (talk) 07:44, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Great news! The hoard's finder has sent me a collection of images to use. I'll add them to the article, and one to this nomination, shortly. Could the prep builders please delay including this DYK in a set until I've sorted out the images? I'll get it done in a few hours' time. Prioryman (talk) 14:23, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Wow, that's very nice! Thanks for reaching out to him. Dreamyshade (talk) 18:31, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
  • OK, we're all done here and this nomination is ready to go. There's now a Commons category, images in the article and a nice pic to go with the nomination. It's ready for the prep queue. I'd appreciate it if the prep builder could consider using the image with the hook. Prioryman (talk) 20:03, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
