Thanks bot. I removed the statement for which I could find no source other than the German Wikipedia ffrom where it was translated. The "unsourced" paragraph is a prose version of the titles she published, - I combined the two. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:32, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Everything the bot says is good and I see you've fixed the issues it brought up. Hook 0 is cited to ref 6 where it's explicitly stated in the article; hook 1 is cited to ref 7 and is not quite as explicit as hook 0. For that reason, and hook length, I prefer hook 0. With that hook, it's not immediately clear what the "French team" is. Is it necessary to list the newspaper's name in the hook or could you just say ... that Eleonore Büning argued that..."? This will be good to go once the hooks are tightened and/or clarified. Best, BobAmnertiopsisChatMe! 08:48, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
I am not sure I understand what you miss. it's not immediately clear which French team but explained in the hook right afterwards "the French team staging the Jahrhundertring". It was unusual that a French team was appointed for the most German piece to celebrate the centenary of the Bayreuth Festival, but more unusual that they could have such an impact. Büning made a very good observation, she didn't argue. Do you think we should explain more in the hook? I'd rather not, because it takes away from HER achievement, but he you go:
ALT2: ... that Eleonore Büning wrote in the FAZ that the French team staging the Jahrhundertring for the centenary of the Bayreuth Festival revolutionised the understanding of Wagner in Germany?
My preference would be ALT1, though, because the Jahrhundertring was already mentioned several times on the Main page. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:41, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Okay, good calls. All hooks approved with ALT1 preferred per nominator's request. I've shortened Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in the other two hooks to FAZ. Let me know if you prefer them the other way. Best, BobAmnertiopsisChatMe! 17:06, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
  • @Gerda Arendt: - So admittedly my German is rusty, but ""Wann haben wir so etwas zum letzten Mal gesehen, wenn nicht im Traum?" translates to "When was the last time we saw something like this, when not in a dream"? Just for clarification is that a correct translation? and if so that doesn't seem to line up with "noted that it restored sensuality and a dream-like quality to Wagner's work" but maybe that's in the reference and not the translation? Sorry confusing, but if you can clarify I can hopefully promote the hook.  MPJ-DK  10:37, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes, it's in the ref which I summarized, - her writing style is not good for DYK. She opens "Ein fester Kuss. Tausend Sterne gehen auf. Tristans Schrei. Isoldes Tränen.", then after while the dream thing, then after comparing other stagings, "Sinnlichkeit durch Aussparung" (for the others, sensuality by reduction). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:47, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Hmm. Gerda Arendt, MPJ-DK, perhaps it would be better to err on the side of caution and go with ALT0 which is more unambiguously supported by its reference? You're right, Gerda, that Büning's language and intent are difficult to do justice to in such a short form... BobAmnertiopsisChatMe! 23:05, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
  • I see no problems on my end with that, nominator expressed a preference with Alt1 so I looked at that one mainly. MPJ-DK
  • restored for main hook.  MPJ-DK  23:49, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
