Master of Delft, Triptych with Virgin and Child, saints and donors by the Master of Delft
( Back to T:TDYK )
( Article history links: )
- ... that art historians disagree as to whether two figures in a painting (detail pictured) of c. 1510 by the Master of Delft are saints or sibyls? Source: "Ringbom identified the two sumptuously attired women in the foreground as sibyls, prophetesses from classical antiquity, who are foretelling the coming of Christ, but other authors believe that the right to be in the enclosed garden was reserved for female saints" from the Rijksmuseum catalogue; they still call the painting Triptych with the Virgin and Child and saints (centre panel).... (ie not sibyls
- Comment: The painting new 28 December; the Master expanded x5 from 25 December.

- the articles check out and are beautiful. I don't see any issues at all. The hook is great. The sources are hard to review so AGF on close paraphrasing. --Guerillero Parlez Moi 19:37, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

- If it's ok, as I've had similar articles on DYK on 25 Dec and 6 Jan, I'll wait a few days before doing the qpq to space them out a bit. @Guerillero: I'll let you know when I've done it. Thanks. Johnbod (talk) 00:38, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
