Rogue & Gambit
[edit]- ... that although X-Men characters Rogue and Gambit had been in a romantic relationship since the 1990s, they did not headline a comic book together until the 2018 miniseries Rogue & Gambit? Source

- This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are sourced inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. The required QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:04, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
- Reverting my own promotion here. The hook provided would have been okay, but per WP:DYKSG, hooks about works of fiction need to involve the real world in some way here. Please give alternate gooks @Cambalachero, Argento Surfer, and Cwmhiraeth:. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:38, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: I'm not sure I understand the problem here. What's not real-world about publication dates? Argento Surfer (talk) 12:26, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
- ALT1: ...that Rogue & Gambit is the first X-Men comic headlined by the X-Men characters Rogue and Gambit?
- This one is basically the same, but focusing on the publication and skiping the relation between the characters. It's still relevant information (that's why it's them and not, say, "Rogue & Cyclops" or "Magik & Gambit"), but that is explained in the article itself. Cambalachero (talk) 12:32, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: does Alt1 work for you? Argento Surfer (talk) 17:57, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5 and Cwmhiraeth: Is this ok to move forward? I can't find the template on the Noms page or in a prep or queue... Argento Surfer (talk) 11:55, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

- @Argento Surfer: I've added the nomination back to the pending nominations page. Right now there's a discussion at WT:DYK on the status of that supplementary guideline about fiction, so perhaps in the meantime, maybe you can try proposing another alternate hook? - Alt2: ...that although comic writers established a romance between X-Men characters Rogue and Gambit in the 1990s, the 2018 miniseries Rogue & Gambit was the first comic featuring them as co-stars? Source Argento Surfer (talk) 12:25, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- There has been a discussion on the DYK rule concerned, with different people interpreting it in different ways. I thought the original hook complied with the rules. I also thought ALT1 did and I also approve ALT2. Time to get this promoted! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:38, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
