Roy and Silo
[edit]- ... that "gay penguins" Roy and Silo raised a chick at New York's Central Park Zoo, which when fully grown, entered into a same-sex relationship of her own?

- Comment - I'm not an expert at DYK, but I love this entry. It is controversial, but cited. Although there is debate about whatever people debate about, the fact that "gay penguins" is in quotes means it can be taken literally or ironically, so nobody should get too upset. Very interesting and pithy hook. Central Park Zoo should probably be wikilinked, and I think "same sex" should be "same-sex", but I like it no matter what. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 23:27, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, length, expansion, unbiased, citations all check out. The hook is fine, since it is referenced in the article with citations, controversial is good for hooks. Please note the commeds from MrNinja are valid, but are not requirements under the DYK submission. Passing this Kayz911 (talk) 18:53, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
