SethBling

[edit]

Improved to Good Article status by Wumbolo (talk). Self-nominated at 15:49, 22 July 2018 (UTC).

  • Comment: Was SethBling 24 years old at the time, or was it Super Mario World? Either way, the addition of this clause does nothing for the DYK. David notMD (talk) 21:12, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
@David notMD: Super Mario World was 24 years old at the time. I added the clause because I thought readers might not know what Super Mario World is. I've removed the clause now, especially since it makes the hook more concise. wumbolo ^^^ 22:26, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
  • Nominated within 7 days of receiving GA. New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. Images are freely-licensed and fair use. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits.
  • The hook is very interesting, but I don't see the hook fact about the third speedrunner in the article. Per DYK rules, the hook facts must appear in the article with inline cites. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 21:43, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: This part in the article:
In 2015, SethBling was the first to execute the Credits Warp glitch on a home video game console, with a time of five minutes and 59 seconds, after Twitch streamer JeffW356 had successfully executed the glitch on an emulator.
was supposed to verify it. The reasoning is that the emulator run wasn't accepted at first (because it's an emulator run), and was "validated" when SethBling completed the same glitch on actual console. I will explain it in the article more precisely. wumbolo ^^^ 22:00, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Hook refs verified and cited inline. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 18:12, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
