- I'll try to spice up this nomination:
- ALT2:... that, before signing with the NBA team, Houston Rockets, basketball player Will Cummings committed to Temple University because of its winning tradition?
- ALT3:... that basketball player Will Cummings was named to the First Team All-American Athletic Conference and then signed with the NBA team, Houston Rockets?

This article is new enough and long enough. Any of the hooks would do but I favour ALT3. (I dislike hooks where the hook fact depends on something that the subject of the article has said about himself, which would rule out ALT0 and ALT2.)
