QPQ: Template:Did you know nominations/Michael Smith (diplomat)

  • Nominated 1 day after creation, and is about 3800 bytes, satisfying date and length criteria. Article is sourced, and I am assuming good faith for the sources I cannot access (for example, the BBC video gives the message "This content not available in your location"). Hook is OK and sourced, though it could be shortened, perhaps as ALT1:
  • ALT1: ... that British champion 60m hurdler Yasmin Miller (pictured) had to train in a neighbourhood park during the COVID-19 lockdown?
  • That's just a suggestion though. The image is suitable at this scale, and appropriately licenced. QPQ in progress. Mindmatrix 21:58, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the review Mindmatrix. I don’t mind ALT1 but we don’t tend to use neighbourhood in that sense in British English. Suggesting ALT2 - Dumelow (talk) 23:37, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
  • ALT2: ... that British champion 60m hurdler Yasmin Miller (pictured) had to train in her local park during the COVID-19 lockdown?
Sure, ALT2 works as well. Mindmatrix 01:17, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
  • ALT2:Long enough, new enough, licensed photo, either hook is great- no copyright issues. Bruxton (talk) 03:28, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
