Format[edit]

This format was borrowed from Template:Musgpestcat.--Pharos 17:58, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Syntax[edit]

I have simplified the syntax, so it now only requires a single input (the year) and works for both AD and BC years. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:37, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sort keys[edit]

Can someone please change the category sort keys? I can't work out how the template works. The sorting in the categories, such as Category:States and territories established in the 1900s, looks a mess. It would look better if the sort keys were preceded by a space so they didn't appear under headings in the categories. McLerristarr | Mclay1 05:23, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It looks fine to me—the years that end in 0 are categorized under the 0; those that end in 1 under the 1, etc. What could be more logical for a by-decade category? Good Ol’factory (talk) 06:10, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not questioning the order; it just looks bad with a heading for each member. The headings don't help in any way so there's no use having them. McLerristarr | Mclay1 10:03, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why though? Isn't this just a subjective assessment? How do they not help at all when each header corresponds to the appropriate year within the decade? 1994 appears under the "4" in the 1990s—subjectively, this makes sense to me and looks fine.
