Template talk:Unfocused
Dated maintenance templates
[edit]@JJMC89: If you're going to create a new dated maintenance category, please follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Creating a dated maintenance category to get everything set up correctly. Thanks. Anomie⚔ 10:34, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Anomie: Just a template requester here (one of those whom JJMC89 kindly offered to help with a messed-up situation; see Template talk:Incoherent). I have a question for you: given that this maintenance category is more in the nature of a rename/move of an existing one (Category:Wikipedia articles without coherent topic) than a brand new one, does that make setting up everything simpler/different? Please see Template talk:Incoherent#Template two 2 and the discussion prior to that for details.
- It would seem to me that we need to have a cutover process, in which we more or less simultaneously delete Template:Incoherent, merge Template talk:Incoherent here, and rename the old Category to the new one. Is that correct? Mathglot (talk) Mathglot (talk) 00:20, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- This template was created from Template:Incoherent-topic, not Template:Incoherent. T:Incoherent will need to be redirected or taken to WP:TFD. The categories from T:Incoherent should be deleted (WP:G8) if the template is redirected or deleted if not populated by another template. — JJMC89 (T·C) 01:20, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Template:Incoherent now redirects to Template:Unfocused. Mathglot (talk) 04:34, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Unfocused section
[edit]Can we add a section parameter that will replace "article" in the tag text with "section" and thus allow its use to tag unfocused sections?
{{unfocused|section}} would render as "This section may lack focus...".

-
|section=yes
works. I'm not sure either are needed for this template though. Thoughts? — JJMC89 (T·C) 03:11, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
Argument "discuss"
[edit]{{Unfocused}}
currently supports an argument "talk", to input the talk-page section. I have the impression most templates support an argument "discuss", to input the full wikilink, including title and section. I'd like to suggest supporting both (not at the same time), as different editors are more used to either form. fgnievinski (talk) 01:26, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
