Image size

[edit]

IMHO, the image is unnecessarily and unaesthetically large. Reducing it to "Image:Treble clef.svg|40px" looks much better in my view (and saves space on the pages where the template is displayed). I wasn't sure if simply changing "Image:Treble clef.svg" to "Image:Treble clef.svg|40px" would not interfere with the rest of the template syntax - so please could someone more syntax-knowledgeable do this? Regards, BNutzer 11:38, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have been bold and changed "Image:Treble clef.svg|{{#ifeq:{{{small|}}}|yes|30|50}}px" to "Image:Treble clef.svg|{{#ifeq:{{{small|}}}|yes|30|40}}px". BNutzer 11:50, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent improvements

[edit]

Using the example page I created at Template:Composers/Examples I have cleaned up the parameters and tried to bring it more in line with other banners I've used. Mostly it's removing redundant code and balancing curly braces. Let me know if there's anything I can do or explain to help. Adam McCormick (talk) 02:58, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Everything look great. I learned a few new things and saw a template I'd never seen before. Thanks for your help! §hep¡Talk to me! 03:12, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for your work on this. The project has not yet formally decided to go with full assessments so that means we can't fix the comments display yet - which has been the problem on other banners. Perhaps I can consult you both later? --Kleinzach 09:11, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for corrections

[edit]

As per the discussion on the Composers Project talk page, we'd like to correct the text to the following:

XXX is within the scope of the Composers WikiProject, a group of editors writing and developing biographical articles about composers of all eras and styles. The project discussion page is the place to talk about technical and editorial issues and exchange ideas. New members are welcome!

There is also a typo (a missing space) in the text that appears when there is a Comments' page. The text is:

This article has been assessed as B-Class on the Project's quality scale.See comments for details.

There needs to be a space before the word 'See'. Thank you --Kleinzach 09:52, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amended as requested.  —SMALLJIM  20:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --Kleinzach 23:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Modifications again

[edit]

{{editprotected}} Would you please replace the current code with the one at Template:Composers/Sandbox. There's been discussion with the assessment team that this change is helpful. Thank you! §hep¡Talk to me! 00:37, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done Rjd0060 (talk) 15:47, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{editprotected}} Please replace File:Treble clef.svg with File:Music ClefG.svg as the first one will soon be deleted as duplicate. Thanks. Lycaon (talk) 13:30, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me that this replacement is incorrect. The images are quite clearly not the same, with the newer one seeming to be of inferior quality. --- RockMFR 22:48, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Deletion was declined on commons. Ruslik (talk) 10:15, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Italics

[edit]

I don't see any reason why the text in the banner should be in italics. None of the project banners {{WikiProject Biography}}, {{WikiProject Classical music}}, {{WikiProject Opera}} do that, so why should this one? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 06:33, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Michael Bednarek: It's been in italics for twelve and a half years. Maybe Sketchee (talk · contribs) liked it that way. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:49, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Add needs-infobox parameter

[edit]

It would be useful to add a needs-infobox parameter to the coding of the banner template. It would help to add infoboxes for composers. Thanks Dreamy Jazz (talk) 18:09, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dreamy Jazz: Seriously, do you realise how controversial this is? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:53, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: No I didn't. Why would it be? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dreamy Jazz (talkcontribs) 18:20, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can you fix

 |MAIN_TEXT = '''''{{PAGENAME}}'''

to

|MAIN_TEXT = '''''{{PAGENAME}}'''''

It uses italic and bold but there is no close tag for italic. ~~ CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 07:18, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The close tag for the italic is at the end of the text, after the word "welcome". Is the formatting causing a problem on any pages where this template is used? – Jonesey95 (talk) 07:25, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
