Production
The project was announced in September 2020 to air on Paramount+, and would be framed from the perspective of the film's producer Albert S. Ruddy.[1] In December 2020, Armie Hammer was cast to play Ruddy.[2][3] However he would exit in January 2021.[4] In April, Dexter Fletcher would be hired to direct several episodes of the series.[5] In May, Miles Teller was cast to replace Hammer as Ruddy.[6] Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler and Juno Temple would join in June.[7][8][9] A bulk of the cast was announced the next month, with Burn Gorman joining as Charles Bludhorn and Justin Chambers in a recurring role as Marlon Brando.[10][11]
Filming for the series had begun by July 2021 but paused on July 29 due to a positive COVID-19 test.[12]
