The Range is a British home, garden, and leisure retail chain, with over 130 stores in the United Kingdom.

In 1980, Chris Dawson started business, as an open-air market trader in South West England. The Range opened its first store in 1989, on Billacombe Road, Plymouth under the name CDS Superstores.[1] In 2009, The Range was ranked 121st on The Sunday Times, PricewaterhouseCoopers Top Track, and 250 League Table of the United Kingdom's fastest growing companies. Dawson was ranked fifth in Management Today's seventh annual survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.

In November 2013, it was announced that The Range planned to open 40 stores in the period of 2013–2016.[2]

Chris Dawson, the chain's billionaire owner plans to open 1,000 store across Europe.[3] In December 2016, The new Swansea store will open.[4]
