The Shortest Day (Italian: Il giorno più corto) is a 1962 Italian Comedy film. It is a parody of the war movie The Longest Day and stars the popular duo Ciccio Ingrassia and Franco Franchi in the leading roles. Dozens of many other well-known actors agreed to appear in the movie in cameo roles free, to avert the bankruptcy of the production company Titanus.[1][2][3]
Plot
The Sicilians Franco and Ciccio are taken from a small town in Sicily and shipped in the Italian army which has to fight the Austrian troops in the World War I. Franco and Ciccio, more clumsy than ever, having won the war back in Italy, but they are out of work.
