Tivoli Software is a brand within IBM's Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure division.[1] Prior to being acquired by IBM in 1996, Tivoli Systems, Inc. was as an independent software vendor which developed and sold "systems management" software and services.[2] Since the acquisition, the software portfolio has grown through development and acquisition.[3]
According to IT analyst research firm Gartner, Inc., IBM currently owns the largest share of the "IT Operations Management" software market, with an 18% market share.[4] IBM is also the leading provider of Enterprise Asset Management software, for the 7th consecutive year, according to ARC Advisory Group, a leading research analyst firm for industry and infrastructure.[5]
