Template:Infobox MLB umpire Hal Harrison Gibson III, known as Tripp Gibson[1] (born August 5, 1981 in Mayfield, Kentucky) is a Major League Baseball umpire who wears uniform number 73. Tripp's first Major League game was July 8, 2013 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.[2] He was promoted to a full-time position in January 2015.[3] Prior to his hiring, he worked as a substitute teacher during the offseason.[4]
