Origin of Company Name[edit]
The firm's name, Mondelēz (pronounced mohn-dah-LEEZ'), is derived from the Latin word for "world" ("Monde") and "delez" is an expression of "delicious."[10] It came from a Kraft Foods employee crowdsourcing survey. More than 1,000 employees submitted entries. The winning company name came from two separate employees - one from Vienna, another from Northfield, Illinois.[11]
