Sapporo Municipal Fukui Elementary and Junior High School (Japanese : 札幌市立福移小中学校) is a public school located in Nakanuma-cho, Higashi-ku, Sapporo, Japan. It is the collective name of Fukui Elementary School and Fukui Junior High School. The two schools are not integrated elementary and junior high schools, but share facilities.

It is a specially accredited school and the only junior high school in Sapporo.

In 1985, an observatory was installed on the roof, and in 2008, a 35 cm aperture reflecting telescope was installed by the Nishioka Observatory in Sapporo, with observation sessions held several times a year.

As of 1 April 2023, the current Fukui Primary School and Fukui Junior High School will be systematically closed.

and the Sapporo Municipal Compulsory Education School Fukui accademy, the first compulsory education school in Sapporo, will be established[1].

Educational goal[edit]

    • Nurture solid academic skills by making the most of the dual elementary and junior high schools, small class sizes and facilities.

History[edit]

  • In 1884 - Terakoya education by Fukuoka clan members begun[2].
  • In 1895 - Opening of the Fukui branch of the Shinoro Education.
  • In 1900 - Sapporo County Public Fukui Elementary School opened[3].
  • In 1914 - The school building is moved to its current location following flood control works on the Ishikari River.
  • In 1945 - Sapporo Municipal Fukui Junior High School opened.
  • In 1985 - Observatory on the roof.
  • In 2023- Sapporo Municipal Compulsory Education School, Fukui Accademy will open.
