Hi, K50 Dude. I marked the article for speedy deletion because I did not think it was notable per A7, which means I did not think it was a notable person. Titleist logo

The logo is a registered trademark of an therefore the property of Titleist. Converting an image into PNG format does not give anyone the rights to distribute it freely. Blatant copyright violation.

The licensing has now been changed to "non-free logo", by User:Eastmain, although I would still contest that is of an unnecessary high resolution for the purpose. Thanks for your input. bigissue (talk) 15:39, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Christina Aguilera's forthcoming album‎

It wasn't advertising, and I think someone just typed the wrong number. The article needed to be deleted because it was a reposting of previously deleted material (see the discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Christina Aguilera's forthcoming album (2nd nomination)), and nothing has changed since that deletion. Once the album has a title, tracklist, and release date, it can be recreated under its real name.—Kww(talk) 23:56, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Latvian Centre for Human Rights

The page definitely doesn't meet CSD:A1 mentioned by nominator. Quoting the criteria: "No context. Very short articles lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Example: "He is a funny man with a red car. He makes people laugh."" It is clearly shown in the article what it is about - a human rights NGO in Latvia.

Besides, it's worth mentioning that the subject of this article obviously meets notability criteria. It exists already in two other wikis (lv: , ru:). The organization has got at least two high awards in its field - so, van der Stoel award, established in 2001 by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, is awarded by jury, chaired by the OSCE High Commissioner OSCE High Commuissioner on National Minorities. I don't recall the article in question, as it has already been deleted. If you disagreed with the speedy deletion nomination you were within your rights 1) to contest the nomination by placing a {{hangon}} tag, and explaining your reasons in the talk page, or 2) to simply remove the nomination if you were not the page's primary author. However, I only nominated the article; it took the agreement of an administrator to remove the article. And yes, articles with {{underconstruction}} tags are speedied all the time. The reason is that it is often clear right from the outset that the author is writing about a non-notable subject. If you were the page's author, and intended to expand the article further to assert notability, you would do well to perform such construction in your own user space rather than in the main article space. Following up on what I said at your RfA, if you tag an article as WP:CSD#A1 no context it has to be impossible to identify the subject of the article. The article at the time had a descriptive name and a website link, which made the subject of the article perfectly clear.
I saw many things that I liked when I looked at your contributions, including your handling of Gawkk and you approaching Ttonyb1 and discussing it with him. However, due to your comparatively low level of experience in administrative areas and contributions altogether your RfA is not going to pass at this time. To give you a rough number, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/nominate currently suggests to have at least 2,000 edits.

Your eagerness to help with administrative tasks is appreciated, however, administrators are expected to have significant experience in many different areas and while editcount is not a particularly accurate measure of experience RfA candidates should have far more than 250 edits. The general feeling at WT:RFA right now is that a candidate should have at least 1000-2000 edits (although just having a few thousand edits is not an automatic qualifier and many candidates with tens of thousands of edits have had been unsuccessful). Hi K50. Regarding this I'm sorry if you took offence. You clearly didn't understand the link - I gather from your user page you live in the US. Regarding sig's the best thing is to find one you like and look at the code then "adopt" it to your own stile (there are several people who use variations on mine, and it was a variation on someone elses! London City Airport

Phil Martini

Hi,

Please can you explain why I, as a London resident, cannot make the decision about whether to include bands, and members of bands on Wikipedia? I am specifically trying to keep track of a couple of London bands, and their various projects.

Of course, should I be doing anything wrong, please let me know - I'm quite new to this. I understand band members might be on stubs rather than wiki pages, in which case I would like some help converting them.

Another way you can see info about someone's new page patrolling is through the logs, e.g. here. Blue ones I marked as patrolled; there you can see if I improved or tagged the articles or just marked them as patrolled. Red ones were deleted, probably through a speedy or prod tag, but they weren't all tagged by me. Sometimes I come across articles that others have already tagged for speedy deletion but not marked as patrolled, and I just mark those patrolled so other NPPers don't waste time checking it. Anyway, looking at the blue links can give useful insights into someone's new page patrolling, so there's another way of looking at contributions for next time. You can get to the NPP logs through viewing the user's contributions, clicking logs, and clicking "Show patrol logs".
