Kristen DiMera (née Blake) is a fictional character from the NBC daytime soap opera, Days of our Lives, portrayed by soap actress Eileen Davidson. Davidson joined the series in 1993, after she completed her role as Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara until her exit in 1998. In 2012, after a fourteen-year absence, Davidson reprised the role, only to once again exit the role a year later in 2013.
Kristen is the adoptive daughter of Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and biological daughter of Rachel Blake; she is also the look-alike of Susan Banks and her siblings: Sister Mary Moira and Thomas Banks, and Penelope Kent (all portrayed by Davidson). She is known for her long-withstanding rivarly with Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) over their shared affections for John Black (Drake Hogestyn). She also involved herself in a relationship with John's son Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) in an attempt to exact revenge on him, only to truly fall in love in return.
Casting and creation
[edit]Davidson made her on-screen exit on November 13, 2013.[1] In June 2014, Davidson announced that The Young and the Restless offered her a two-year contract, and that the contract would also allow her the ability to continue to appear as Kristen.[2][3]
Character development
[edit]Kristen was originally described as a "complex woman" who harbors extreme dislike for John Black (Drake Hogestyn), related from past events in their history.[4]
