The club competed in the Midland Football League Premier Division, the ninth tier of English football, as well as both the FA Vase and the Midland Football League Cup.

Review[edit]

August[edit]

transfers..

Hereford's first ever competitive fixture came at home against Dunkirk. A league-record 4,062 watched as John Mills score a hat-trick in a 4–1 win. However, the high was short-lived as Hereford would only win one more match in August, a 4–3 away win against Rocester, as they fell to defeats to Stourport Swifts, Highgate United and a 5–4 home defeat against Coleshill Town. The month ended with a 0–0 draw at city rivals Westfields.

September[edit]

Hereford responded to their poor start to the season by addressing their defensive frailties, having shipped x goals in y games. Defender Jamie Willets, who had featured against Hereford in their 2–0 defeat at Stourport the previous month, was signed. Joining him midway through the month was former Hereford United defender Ryan Green, whilst veteran defender Tony James left the club on the same day.

These changes kickstarted an 18-match winning streak and a 21-match unbeaten run

April[edit]

With Hereford having gone so far in the FA Vase, it left them needing to make up a number of league fixtures they had in hand, plus fit in the remaining Midland League Cup fixtures. It resulted in them playing up three times a week throughout the month, a total of 12 matches in 28 days. They won every match and secured the league title in the penultimate fixture of the season, a 4–0 win away at Coventry Sphinx. They also reached the Midland League Cup final, beating Stourport Swifts over two legs 4–0 on aggregate.

May[edit]

On 2 May, Hereford faced Westfields for the fourth time this season, beating them for the third time in succession with a 5–1 win at Edgar Street in the Herefordshire County Challenge Cup final, their second trophy of the season. One week later, they earned their third piece of silverware, defeating Walsall Wood 3–1 at Damson Park to win the Midland League Cup.

A fourth trophy and a perfect season was not to be however, as Hereford were beaten 4–1 by Morpeth Town in the FA Vase final on 22 May. Hereford took the lead inside two minutes after Rob Purdie's long range strike, but by half time, Morpeth had levelled through 45-year-old Chris Swailes. Morpeth took control of the second half by scoring three goals unanswered and, despite bringing on Mills and Bundu, Hereford could not find a way back in the match.
