Andrew Feldman (born 16th July 1987, Watford) is an English professional poker player and philanthropist.

Internet Poker Career

Feldman started playing poker on the Internet when he was 18 through his older brother and it was reported in The Sun (newspaper) that in under 3 years he racked up a fortune of £4 million pounds from Internet winnings and although Feldman splashed out £80,000 on an Audi R8 when he was 20, he claims he is something of an 'introvert.'

However it wasn't all plain sailing as after 9 months of playing online he lost all his winnings at the time of over £100,000 in one night which Feldman puts down to tilt (poker) after suffering a loss at the casino. His parents forced him to attend Gamblers Anonymous but Feldman states while at these sessions, "All I could think about was playing poker again."

He spun his last two hundred pounds up to thirty thousand pounds by the end of the month and decided against going to university to focus on a poker career.

His playing style has angered many fellow poker professionals such as Luke Schwartz who has criticized Feldman for dodging the top high-stakes players in the game but Feldman freely admits he made his fortune online by targeting weak players and emphasing the importance of game selection by stating, "I'm not too worried about being the best. That just isn't my game, my game is to try and target the weaker players," which consequently led to Feldman's poker nickname, 'The Bumhunter.'

Live Poker Career

Feldman won his first televised 888 UK Poker Open tournament he played winning $250,000 at the age of 19 in November 2007 beating Gideon Barnett heads up with King Four off suit against Barnett's Ace King as a four came on the turn. Feldman decided to gave his all his winnings to his parents .

He was the youngest professional to signed up by Full Tilt Poker in April 2009 at the age of 21 alongside the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonius and Tom Dwan.

In October 2008 Feldman alongside Robert Williamson III became the largest winners in the Party Poker.com Poker Den: Big Game III cash game racking up a profit of $63,350.

Feldman regularly travels the world to play high stake cash games including Melbourne, Las Vegas and Monte Carlo. In 2009 and 2010 Feldman participated in the Full Tilt Million Dollar Cash games that were held in London and Melbourne with a buyin of $100,000. In the London version in 2009 Feldman famously lost a $200,000 pot early on to Phil Ivey with a King High Flush versus Ivey's Ace High Flush but later in the game Feldman made a comeback by winning a $324,600 pot against French businessman Cyril Mouly and ended up leaving the game as the third largest winner taking home $135,000.

Feldman was meant to play High Stakes Poker season six in 2009 as Great Britain's first ever representative but failed to make an appearance on the table due to last minute replacements.

Feldman regularly plays highroller tournaments and in May 2009, he final tabled by coming 7th in an EPT €25,000 buyin receiving €79,000. A year later, in March 2010 Feldman came third in the €5,000 Heads Up tournament in Monte Carlo losing to French Team Poker Stars Pro Elky collecting €30,000 for his efforts. A few months later, Feldman again came 3rd in the $25,000 highroller in Kyrenia, Cyprus winning $124,400. The following month in London, Feldman played the £10,000 WSOPE Heads Up Highroller and came third once more losing to the eventual winner Gus Hansen where his pocket tens failed to beat Hansen's King Jack. Feldman cashed for £96,212.

Feldman entered the $10,000 Aussie Millions Main Event in 2008 and 2010. In 2008 he finished 58th, cashing for $25,000 and two years later he doubled his cash winning $50,000 by coming 24th. In January 2011 Feldman participated in the $100,000 Highroller alongside 37 other top poker professionals and Asian billionaire's creating a prizepool of $3.8 million dollars. Feldman got knocked out to the eventual winner Sam Trickett who held pocket aces. A few days later Feldman then entered what was then the highest ever buyin for a poker tournament, $250,000 in a one day event alongside 19 other participants. Feldman managed to get on the final table but finished in 7th place where he ran his pocket nines into David Benyamine's pocket kings. Erik Seidel went on to defeat Trickett heads up collecting a first prize of $2.5 million dollars.

In October 2011 Feldman came fourth in Late Night Poker cashing for $30,000 where his A9 lost to Rob Okell's A5 as a 5 came on the river. The following month Feldman competed in the Party Poker Premier League Mixed Championships at the Playboy Club in Mayfair, London with players such as Tony G, Luke Schwartz and Jennifer Tilly competing in Texas Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha. Feldman finished second winning $65,000 when he raised allin against Andy Frankenberger heads up with King Queen and Frankenberger called with King Ten. Frankenberger hit a Queen on the river to give him a straight and win the title and sent a highly emotional Feldman utterly distraught.

Feldman's last cash on the poker circuit was in Asia in February 2012 when he participated in the Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Event. Feldman came 52nd and won $2,837.

As of September 2012 Feldman's poker winnings exceed $1,029,358.

The Secret Millionaire

On the 24th June 2012, Feldman appeared on Channel 4's programme The Secret Millionaire as the youngest ever participant. It was reported in the show that Feldman's total poker winnings exceeded £6 million pounds. He stayed undercover as an unemployed 24 year old student in Bradford for 8 days where he visited three different charities.

He met Colin Naisbett founder of the Little Heroes that supports children and families with cancer. Feldman also met Naisbett's natural grandson, Reece Randle, who suffers from a rare form of leukaemia just before he was two which inspired Nasibett to set up the charity.

Feldman also met Richard Jones from The Joshua Project, which is a community centre for young children in Great Horton to provide them extra-curricular activities. Jones founded this charity with his wife Katy and donated their entire life to supporting over 300 children that attend the centre on a daily basis.

The final charity founder Feldman was introduced to was Gary Staniforth who created The Hidden Homeless, a magazine for homeless people to express their feelings while offering continual support.

At the end of Feldman's undercover stay he donated them with £153,000 of his own money which was split up by giving £25,000 to The Joshua Project, £28,000 to The Hidden Homeless and £100,000 to the Little Heroes .

He also presented each of the founders with a £5,000 personal cheque to take their families away on holiday.

Philanthropy

Feldman has stated on his personal website that he plans to devote the rest of his life to charity and donate a significant amount of any further poker winnings to charity. He also plans to raise £100,000 for charity in 2013.

In July 2012 Feldman set up a fan page on Facebook called The Feldman Foundation where Feldman states he is planning to organise events to raise more money for the three charities he met in Bradford. Later that month it was unveiled that Feldman would be the patron of The Joshua Project.

On August 17th 2012, Feldman ran his first Poker Charity event raising over £1,200 for his foundation.

Controversy

Feldman's life has regularly been at the centre of a lot controversy with well publicised spats with fellow professional poker players Joshua Tyler, Luke Schwartz, Sam Trickett and Paul Zimbler on poker forums such as Blonde Poker and Two Plus Two.

Feldman and Schwartz appeared on a BBC Documentary, Inside Out (BBC TV series) which included a 7 minute segment on Internet Poker. While Schwartz was construed as the high flying millionaire who had won between "5 to 10 million," Feldman spoke about his experience when he was 18 and lost all his poker winnings, which were over £100,000 in one evening and consequently being forced by his parents to attend Gamblers Anonymous.

In June 2010 Feldman lost a court case to Rabbi Simon Nissim where he failed to set aside a statutory demand for £136,000 that Nissim lost Feldman on the Dow Jones Index over the space of two weeks. However it was reported on Two Plus Two that the following year Feldman won a court case against fellow poker professional Paul Zimbler for using Feldman's money to trade on the stock market on a friend's account without Feldman's consent whilst also paying off Zimbler's overdraft, although it seems since the trial Zimbler has refused to pay Feldman back instead declaring himself bankrupt a few months later in February 2012.

Feldman is due to have a boxing fight against poker phenomenon Daniel Cates - known as jungleman online - for a reported figure of $100,000 to give to charity with certain gambling sites already offering a market for people to place bets on who they think will win. It follows other famous poker players settling disputes in the boxing ring after Gus Hansen fought Theo Jørgensen which Jørgensen ended up winning $35,000.

Other Interests

Feldman is an avid fan of Watford FC and tries to regularly attend as many matches at Vicarage Road as possible. He states on his Facebook fan page that his lifelong ambition is to become the chairman.

In 2001 Feldman appeared on the final series of Live and Kicking and won a football quiz called 'Have You Got The Balls' which Sarah Cawood presented. His prize was to become a ball boy at the FA Cup Final in 2002 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, where Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-1 with Michael Owen scoring two goals overturning Freddie Ljungberg's goal for the Gunners.

In 2006 at the age of 18, Feldman represented Great Britain for the Israel Maccabiah Games competing in badminton.
