Roscommon Castle (Irish: Caisleán Ros Comáin) is a castle on the north side of the town of Roscommon in County Roscommon, Ireland. It is located close to the N60, adjacent to Loughnaneane Park. Over a period of 20 years in the late 13th century it was built by Robert d'Ufford, the Justiciar of the Lordship of Ireland, on lands taken from an Augustinian priory.[1]

The castle is located on a slope and is now a ruin. It covered a rectangular area and had four D-shaped towers three stories high and a two-tower gatehouse . One of the entrance towers is still preserved today with a vaulted roof. The entire castle was surrounded by a high curtain wall.

The Irish Government are in charge of the care of the castle through the state agency The Office of Public Works (OPW). The castle is on the List of National Monuments in County Roscommon.[2]
