Disambiguation pages[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like William Wylie are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory
  • Do not add articles to acronym or initials disambiguation pages unless the person or entity is widely known by that name (in which case it should be stated in the linked article).

KCSG[edit]

KCSG is a TV station as here added . Also edits like this should be discussed and from what I've seen WP:DERRY would point consensus against it, better to stay out of it. Arnkellow (talk) 13:18, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Click the link you added, it links to a TV station. Arnkellow (talk) 13:26, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Military awards[edit]

Not relevant, stop adding this guff. Arnkellow (talk) 13:06, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This one is spot on except for the bad formatting on references. Arnkellow (talk) 14:12, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

October 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Eco (currency), did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. — Please use only categories which actually exist. See WP:REDNOT. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Non-existent categories[edit]

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Servaas Theron, please make sure that the category page actually exists. In some cases, it may be appropriate to create a new category in accordance with Wikipedia's categorization guidelines, but it is usually better to use the most specific available existing category. It is never appropriate to leave a page categorised in a non-existent category, i.e. one whose link displays in red. You may find it helpful to use the gadget HotCat, which tests whether a category exists before saving a change. Thank you. . --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 00:11, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

December 2020[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Alison Blackburne, but you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 11:38, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Privy Council[edit]

Can I please make two points to you about membership of the Privy Council. First, on Wikipedia we do not use honorifics (including The Right Honourable) in the first line of text. Second, they can be used in the infobox, but it is normal style (not just on Wikipedia, but in real life too) to use either The Right Honourable or the postnominal PC, but never both. Thanks. -- Necrothesp (talk) 23:15, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Hello, 124.197.55.28,

Please do not add nonexistent/red link categories to articles. It shows up as errors. Use only existing categories unless you are willing to create new categories that fit within the existing Wikipedia category structure. If you have questions, please visit the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:53, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are continuing to create red link, nonexistent categories. If you persist, you risk facing a block. Please stop this now. Liz Read! Talk! 21:32, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is my third message to you to stop adding red link categories. If you do this again, you will be blocked. Liz Read! Talk! 03:30, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You continue to add red link categories to articles so since you are ignoring my messages, I'm going to impose a block for disruptive editing. Liz Read! Talk! 02:50, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Whitespace[edit]

Hi. Please stop making pointless whitespace changes like in this change. The whitespace itself is unnecessary and the addition of it makes reviewing your changes unnecessarily complicated. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:00, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

April 2021[edit]

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Liz Read! Talk! 02:51, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.
This block is imposed because you are ignoring my messages and continue to add nonexistent, red link categories to articles despite being repeatedly asked not to. You are being disruptive. Liz Read! Talk! 02:52, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
