Carlisle

[edit]

You do know Carlisle was made a city in 1133 and it had its own diocese which in turn made the priory a cathedral so it was granted a city with a cathedral. Your argument of a cathedral presence isn't needed only applies to cities that were made cities without cathedral like Manchester Birmingham Bradford and Nottingham. Carlisle was a city in an era of cathedrals were required to make a city. Anything after 1800s was when they scrapped the requirement. Hence why Newport Perth and Wolverhampton were made cities. So your argument isn't relevant in Carlisle case because it was a city way before the act was introduced. So hopefully you learnt something new. Have a good day. Yeah but the modern city of carlisle district doesn't revolve around Henry the VIIIs Cathedrals. Put the info in there but it doesn't need to be in the intro.--3DNewEra (talk) 16:35, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thats fine I'm just correcting your one comment of cathedral city being not modern. It is modern as that's what gave like Lincoln York Lichfield and Ripon their city status whereas as you said modern ones haven't. Just wanted to clarify my reason on using the term. Hope this helps RailwayJG (talk) 17:06, 18 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Parler are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. I'll try and use sources in the future. 3DNewEra (talk) 13:09, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I will try not to make political statements in the future and if you're talking about the Parler talk page I wrote both comments without seeing your post. 3DNewEra (talk) 19:47, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The block is for being not here to build an encyclopedia; this request does not really address that. "I will try to not make political statements" is not a strong enough statement for me to consider unblocking. 331dot (talk) 21:28, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'll help, its not about not adding sources, its about your choice of language and wp:soapboxing on article talk pages (after having been asked to read policy). You need to show you understand what it is you got the boot for.Slatersteven (talk) 15:20, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
