@KylieTastic Hello Kylie all the information that was given in this article was provided by the Fiji Football association, Simon Peters Wife, Simons Best friend and other reporters in Fiji at that time if this could be re looked at this would be much appreciated as I spent a lot of time and effort into every piece of information on this article to make sure it is correct
Thank you for your time Aaru3h (talk) 13:34, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Aaru3h, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a place for subjects to write about themselves or subjects they know - see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). It has no sources and is not neutral (see WP:NPOV). Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:23, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@KylieTastic Hi Kylie
I do not know Simon Peters or any of the people I used to get the information personally, I only reached out to them cause I heard of the name Simon Peters and thought he could be maybe someone I could right about, and therefore reached out to my sources I know none of them personally. it would be really appreciated if you can take a second look at this article Aaru3h (talk) 14:28, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Aaru3h, if its not a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest then it sounds like it hits the policy Wikipedia:No original research. As stated above all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Also all content must be sourced for Wikipedia:Verifiability and it is completely unsourced. KylieTastic (talk) 15:31, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@KylieTastic if by notable you mean well known, then yes you could go to any person in Fiji and I assure you they'll know who Simon Peters is, There are many books about the legend in the Nadi and Suva library, and people are still writing articles about him and his legacy in Fiji in the newspapers etc Aaru3h (talk) 23:52, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Aaru3h, people reading an encyclopedia cannot go to Fiji and talk to people also Wikipedia does not care about the opinions of individuals and as now state twice the usually "requires significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources". However books and newspapers are generally reliable sources, so if what you say is true the sources probably exist to write a article. It looks like some sources exist on the web [1], [2], [3] but need a few more for notability. KylieTastic (talk) 09:40, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@KylieTastic so what, I need more articles and story's to back this up? what if I was to get a written statement from the CEO of Fiji Football association (Mohammed Yusuf) will that be enough notable sources or will I need to contact other news platforms? Aaru3h (talk) 11:34, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Aaru3h, any article is written based on actual references, so yes if you re-write the content/claims need to have sources back up the content. Sorry, but no, personal statements are not valid sources. If a subject was important in the history of an organisation normally they would have it in a history section of their website. So although personal statements are not valid, if as CEO they wanted to task the correct person/department to add such a section to the Fiji Football association website that would be one source that could be used as a reference for claims. At the moment he is just a mentioned with no depth on this and this. Note that for notability, most editors would probably not consider the association independent, but I'm sure there exist three independent sources for that purpose.
