Your new article

[edit]

Dear Abel Tiprasa, Many thanks for contributing to Wikipedia with the interesting new article about Kokborok script. I believe this could be a valuable addition to the existing articles about Kokborok literature and language. However, the article as it stands will need a lot more work to be encyclopaedic, i.e. of a standard that is expected of Wikipedia articles. Allow me to give you some feedback: a) you will need to include references to proof claims that are being made. Pls add a bibliography and any further reading you have. b) the language will need to be reviewed. Articles should be written neutrally and not like an explanation or conversation with the reader. The level of English (grammar, spelling) also requires some more work. c) Pls look at the structure of the article. Maybe check the article about Hangul as example of a well-written article. I have therefore moved the article to the "draft" space where further work can be done on the article until it's ready for the main encyclopaedia. If you have any questions, pls let me know. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 13:14, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kokborok

[edit]

You were removing one sourced content to replace it with another, which was not expected. You should've updated it like you have done now, without removing existing sourced content.

Unsourced change

[edit]

Hi Abel, You have recently changed the number of native speakers in the Kokborok article. I have reverted this change as it is not supported by the sources and you have not shared where you have retrieved this information from. If you have a reliable source, please feel free to discuss the change. Many thanks. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 16:23, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kokborok script

[edit]
The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

Dear Abel Tiprasa, please note that edits on topics about social groups in South Asia are under discretionary sanctions. As you know, there is currently no official agreement on a "native" script for Kokborok. Kokborok uses Bengali or Latin script. The introduction of a "native" script is a political process brought forward by certain sections of Kokborok society. There is no universal consensus on a) the introduction of a native script and b) what this script is going to be. Edits such as the one I have just reverted - are being considered WP:SOAPBOXING, which is against Wikipedia policy. You may be blocked from editing if you continue your disruptive edits. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 13:48, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Khorongma script moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Khorongma script, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Sourcing and reliability

[edit]

Dear Abel Tiprasa, I appreciate your efforts about the Kokborok language. I appreciate that this is not a well-known language and help on this topic is very useful. However, as we have discussed before, Wikipedia can only have information that is factually correct, has reliable sources and is independently verifiable. Wikipedia is not a place for furthering an agenda. As you have outlined yourself in your draft Draft:Khorongma script, the ancient Kokborok script is extinct. While the spoken language of Kokborok has official status in the region, its official writing systems are Latin and Bengali. A "new" Kokborok script is being considered by some people, but this is a politically fractioned process. Therefore, I will remove your script image from the Kokborok article again as this is not by any means an official or accepted script for the language - unless you can provide evidence which I have not been able to identify.
I'd like to remind you again that articles about South Asian ethnic groups are under general sanctions as outlined above. Continued soapboxing and related activities can lead to topic bans or loss of editor rights on Wikipedia. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 08:54, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Khorongma script

[edit]

Hello, Abel Tiprasa. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Khorongma script".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Lapablo (talk) 19:52, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kok Tripura, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Kok Tripura requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
