A tag has been placed on Sam Fryer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://abxy.co/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FRYER-DECK-FOR-WEBsm.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Vernon O’Meally article[edit]

Hello, thanks for writing this article! I’ve just read it and I’m a bit concerned that it has no citations apart from a gallery biography. That worries me since without proof that this person is notable, meaning covered enough in reliable sources with a professional reputation like news media articles, textbooks and academic journals to write a fair article on them, the article may get deleted. (here's a specific guide on this topic for artists.)

Are there any reliable sources (ones not written by or for this person) you can add? If so just edit the article and add citations using the cite tool, or if you have any thoughts or questions just let me know. Blythwood (talk) 04:41, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Vernon O’Meally[edit]

The article Vernon O’Meally has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources apart from a page by his gallery. Article is very promotional and may have been written by a COI editor.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Comments on edits[edit]

Hello. Looking at your edits and username, you seem to be creating pages on artists you represent.

Unfortunately, this kind of editing is discouraged by Wikipedia, which discourages editing by people with a "conflict of interest" about their subject, and also requires biography articles to be of people who are already covered in multiple reliable and independent sources, meaning sources not connected with them. Things like independent reviews and interviews. (Those are links to guides explaining this.) WP:ARTIST is Wikipedia's guide to eligibility for artists - also, if you are planning to write an article on an artist, it's often good to discuss it with the articles for creation project, who can give you advice on the early draft stage and help finish it off.

None of this prevents you from making edits on topics in which you don't have a conflict of interest, which is always encouraged. If you're interested in editing on Wikipedia on art topics generally, you might be interested in looking at the Visual Arts Wikiproject, which has a discussion board and lists of articles that might be good topics to improve. It is also fine to make basic edits (like correcting inaccuracies like a wrong date of birth, removing vandalism or adding pictures) on topics you do have a COI on, provided that you disclose it to ensure transparency.

Below I attach guidelines on editing on topics you have a conflict of interest in. Please just let me know by clicking "talk" and starting a new conversation section if you have any questions or if there's something you would like help with. Blythwood (talk) 05:49, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Alibarker1. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.
