Thank you for pointing out the mistake I have been making. It was due to a typing mistake in an AWB regular expression parse and replace string. I have now fixed it. I introduced the error into the script in the last couple of days, but to make sure I got them all I went back to the start of this AWB run which was on January 2 (about 1000 edits to my surprise). Hi Hiltzhowes, thanks for your post.
There were several reasons for this edit, which I briefly explained in the edit summary:-Rv unsourced and unencyclopedic - non-existent rope swings do not belong in an encyclopedia
To explain my reasons, line by line:-

1. Your first change was to delink Ealing - a useful link for people who want to know more about the area Pitshanger is in.
2. You then added ", Including a family run Newsagent commonly reffered to as the 'Pagoda' by pitshanger inhabitants." this includes 2 capital letters where there shouldn't be any, (Including and Newsagent) and omits one where there should be (Pitshanger) and misspells "referred" as "reffered". It is also unsourced.
3. You then validly removed the link from computer (a common word which does not need a link), but also removed the links from Anglican and Methodist - for no obvious reason - and left the text as "andAnglican" without a space.
4. You then added unsourced information about a crater, and a river; whereas Wikipedia requires information to be verifiable in a reliable source - you also missed a space before "there" and a capital R to River.
5. Your information about the river was also self-contradictory; you say "this river is polluted" but you also say it was "cleaned up in 2008" - if it is polluted, it wasn't cleaned up, or vice versa.
6. You end with "There was a rope swing which disappeared for no apparent reason in September 2011." This led to my comment "non-existent rope swings do not belong in an encyclopedia" even if the rope swing was still there, we wouldn't mention it, because it is too trivial for inclusion in an encyclopedia like Wikipedia.

I hope that helps you understand my reasons. If there was just a spelling mistake, I would have corrected it, but as you can see, there were several other problems.

Keivan.f - I've had another go - your only real "mistakes" were "units" when you meant "unites", some tenses, e.g. is instead of was, came instead of went, and too many External links
WP:ELMINOFFICIAL is quite clear "Normally, only one official link is included" so I have kept the official website and removed, facebook, twitter and Instagram.
You need to be careful of being over promotional - I have removed language such as "the luxury brand" and you should reduce the number of adverts you link to (refs 4-10 all in one block) as these appear promotional, not a WP:NPOV - Arjayay (talk) 20:18, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

My only contribution to the article itself was a one letter grammar correction suggested in a semi-protected edit request.
I have answered three semi-protected edit requests on the talk page, but that is one of the WP:WikiGnome tasks I undertake.
The requests from all articles appear on the User:AnomieBOT/SPERTable and I try and answer them, I'm not watching the KKK article.
As a Brit, I have no knowledge, expertise, or access to specialist sources, about the KKK - and my spelling is UK English, not US, so I could be more of a hinderance, than a help. - Arjayay (talk) 20:37, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Need Assistance Of An Experienced Editor

Please allow me to apologize if this request runs afoul of Wikipedia's rules. Despite having more than 30 years experience as a newspaper editor, I have little experience as a Wikipedia editor.

As I researched the history of final scores in NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournaments, I stumbled upon a sentence so poorly written that even those 30 years of experience fail me. What prompts me to seek outside help is that I have no idea what the author is trying to communicate. Perhaps you can help.

The article is "2009 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament" and the offending sentence is, "The 2009 tournament marked the first time not only for a Final Four had a minimum seating capacity of 70,000 but also by having most of the tournament in the February Sweeps of the Nielsen Ratings due to the digital television transition in the United States on June 12, 2009, which also made this the last NCAA Basketball Tournament, in all three divisions, to air in analog television."

Geez – I get exhausted just reading it again! This isn't an issue of having to understand sports to be able to correct the sentence. It is more the stream-of-consciousness ramble through different topics that leaves me scratching my head. I really hope that you can either edit this yourself or send it over to other editors who might want to take a shot at it. If a solution cannot be found, I would be in favor of simply removing the sentence.

On a different subject, I would like to tell you that I've read the communications on your Talk page and the communications on the Talk pages of other editors, and it (bemuses? frightens?) saddens me that the communications between editors at Wikipedia are full of grammatical and spelling errors. Hi MarydaleEd, thanks for your post.
I agree that the intended meaning is so obfuscated that you could invent almost anything, and being a "Brit" I know next to nothing about basketball - I had to read the article to confirm what a "Final Four" is.
What I do in situations like this is track the changes through the page history - sometimes part of a sentence has been accidentally (or deliberately) cut out, or added in.
This edit on 19 March 2011, was where the insertion was made to the previously logical lead. Hopefully, knowing what the sentence originally was, you can now delete/rewrite the insertion to make sense.

As for the number of grammatical errors, I agree that there are far too many, across all subjects.
Schools pages are often poorly written - not solely due to their being edited by the pupils; teachers and parents are often as bad - the number of awards "recieved"(sic) by US schools is amazing.
Scientists, particularly mathematicians, are also remarkably lax on spelling and grammar.
Much of my editing is on Indian subcontinent pages, where some enthusiastic editors think their English is better than it actually is, I have seen some wonderfully complicated strings of words (I won't call them sentences) full of adjectives and adverbs, particularly superlatives, but often completely missing a noun or a verb. That said, their English is very much better than my Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi etc.

The final problem on Wikipedia is that not only do spellings change from UK to US English (not to mention, Australian, Canadian, Indian, Jamaican etc.) but so do some grammar rules. We have particular problems with "nouns of multitude", especially with rock bands, where US editors keep changing UK bands to the singular. - Arjayay (talk) 09:13, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

You are correct about different languages having different rules. It makes me crazy when I see periods on the outside of quotation marks on almost all Wikipedia pages! On a different note, your last sentence is very interesting to me. Can you give me a few examples of your point about US editors changing UK bands to the singular? I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I'm quite interested in your meaning and some examples. Lastly, I followed the link you offered and saw that the editor who added what I called the "offending sentence" took a perfectly good sentence and initially changed the sentence to read:

"The 2009 tournament marked the first time not only for a Final Four had a minimum seating capacity of 70,000 but also by having most of the touiment in the Febuary Sweeps of the Nielsen Ratings due to the U.S. DTV Swichover on June 12, 2009, which also made this the last NCAA Basketball Touimemnt, in all three divisons, to air in analog televison. The University of Detroit Mercy hosted the Final Four, which was the 71st edition."

I have concluded that this editor should have his or her editing privileges withdrawn! He or she changed that perfectly good sentence to include gibberish like "touiment," "divisons," "televison" and "Febuary." Perhaps Wikipedia should assign a competent editor to do nothing else but follow that editor's contributions and correct them! (I hope my attempt at humor does not offend anyone. MarydaleEd - apologies for the delay in replying - I assumed this thread was dead, so missed your last post
This is a prime example of the is/are edit changes we have with British bands. The IP editor totally ignores all the hidden text, ("DO not CHANGE THIS TO "IS"; "name of a group are" is proper British English and this is a British band") changes the "are" to "is" and adds an edit summary "Motorhead IS a band".
You will find similar hidden text on many British band articles - e.g. Pink Floyd which states "NOTE: UK bands by convention of British English here are described as WERE. Do not use WAS!"
The reverse problem can arise on articles about US groups, such as R.E.M. which has hidden text stating ""was" not "were", see WP:ENGVAR"
Similar problems are occasionally encountered with some other collective nouns, such as sports teams, but musical groups are the biggest problem.
