Notability of Imran Kazmi 60187
[edit]A tag has been placed on Imran Kazmi 60187, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 22:19, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created yourself, as you did with Imran Kazmi 60187. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. --Finngall talk 22:42, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:540024235-1-.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:540024235-1-.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:05, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
The point would be to have it link in context, like in the article about the Caldwell County, not just randomly inserting it into articles. Cornell Rockey 13:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Azruski, what are you doing with the Collettsville article? Is it some sort of joke? Awbeal 18:49, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:540024235-1-.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:540024235-1-.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. bluemask (talk) 05:14, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Glenbard High School alumni, artists, and notability
[edit]You stated "artists are indeed notable". Please see WP:CREATIVE, which gives the guidelines for artists. Artists are not inherently notable on wikipedia; they must meet certain guidelines and certainly need reliable sources, which doesn't include the artist's website. One (recommended) way to prove notability is to create Matt Pawlowski and prove notability for that page, and then add him to the high school page. Another guideline is available here: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools/Article_guidelines#Alumni. Cheers, tedder (talk) 00:39, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Pawlowski childood.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pawlowski childood.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Pawlowski childood.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Pawlowski childood.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris 07:36, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Matt Pawlowski
[edit]I have nominated Matt Pawlowski, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Matt Pawlowski. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. OlYellerTalktome 18:32, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yo. You asked on my talk page why this page was being deleted. My reasons for deletion are on the page's AfD which can be found here. It's been asserted that the article is a hoax and I've found that there's conflicting information which would back up the hoax assertion. Even if it isn't a hoax, the "credible sources" that you say it has don't exist. It has one source that's a high school basketball team's roster which, because of the subjects proposed age given by his college graduation year, can't be about the subject of the article. So, even if the source is about the subject of this article, almost all of the material in the article is wrong or the source isn't credible. Even if the info was right and the source was credible, the subject of the article isn't notable per WP:BIO, WP:CREATIVE, or WP:Notabilit (or any other inclusion guideline for that matter). To sum it up, the article is either a hoax, incorrect, or not suitable for Wikipedia. OlYellerTalktome 03:04, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Michael LaFido
[edit]A tag has been placed on Michael LaFido requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 18:12, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
