You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Irish World, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:03, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Irish World has been reverted.
Your edit here to The Irish World was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/theirishworld) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 15:15, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Is it possible to change my user name so as to keep within the guidelines, or is it better to have the page deleted and recreate it when I set up a new user? The Irish World (talk) 15:33, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

What happens to the article and what happens to your user account is unrelated. You are welcome to ask for this account to be renamed (provided only one person has access to it; just provide your proposed new username in place of "new username" in the unblock template) or you can abandon it and create a new account for yourself with an acceptable username. Should the page be deleted, recreating it with a new account will not make it acceptable, though. Huon (talk) 15:52, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I'm new to Wikipedia and incorrectly named my account. Would like to amend to this name instead please. I will then be able to address the necessary changes to the page I created too. The Irish World (talk) 16:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:57, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may have more success writing about the Irish World Awards. I can see some sources here and here that mention them, though we would need more coverage to sustain an article. The awards are already mentioned in Helena Jessie, John McNicholl and List of The Corrs' awards, so it wouldn't be an orphaned article, which tend to be at greater risk of being deleted.
