Page move

[edit]

Greetings! I see you created a page called No Going Back - children's novel. According to the guidelines for naming pages, I have moved that page to No Going Back (novel). —C.Fred (talk) 19:58, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've got the two other pages taken care of. Let me know if there's anything else I can help out with this series of articles. —C.Fred (talk) 20:42, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Fred. Is it ok to use the blurb fronm a book on Wikipedia? Wasn't sure of the legality of this. All the books concerned are from the 1940s, 1950s or 1960s. BTP51 (talk) 20:44, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the use of book blurbs...do it sparingly. Without looking at the details of UK copyright lengths, act under the assumption that the blurb is under copyright (and is promotional regardless). Make sure to show it's quoted (block indent or quotation marks) and indicate the source. —C.Fred (talk) 23:27, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
From your reply at my talk page:
Copyright issues? Shouldn't be a problem as I know personally the holder of the copyright.
Doesn't matter. Wikipedia doesn't make exceptions based on who editors know; the guidelines for non-free content apply to all non-free content. It's the same reason the book covers have to be declared as non-free content—but they can be fairly used in the article about the respective books (because what better shows what the book looks like than the cover?). —C.Fred (talk) 16:00, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Girls Gone By Publishers, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ggbp.co.uk. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:23, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, BTP51. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Media_copyright_questions.
Message added 23:13, 18 January 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Ajbpearce (talk) 23:13, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading the image! I've improved the description, especially by changing the template: you wanted to use {{Information}}, not {{Non-free use rationale}}. Nyttend (talk) 03:12, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Girls Gone By Publishers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how this might meet notability guidelines. Lacks citations to significant coverage in reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have nominated Girls Gone By Publishers, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Girls Gone By Publishers. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. RadioFan (talk) 12:27, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non Free Images in you User Space

[edit]

Hey there BTP51, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free images are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some images that I found on User:BTP51/Girls Gone By Publishers. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use images to your user-space drafts or your talk page. See a log of images removed today here, shutoff the bot here and report errors here. Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 00:40, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Hindhead Sailors stone front.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 03:22, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Response to your message

[edit]

Don't worry about it, someone else must have used the IP you were using before to vandalize (I'm assuming you received the message whilst logged out as you obviously didn't receive a message from me when you were logged in). BTW even though you're not using a shared computer, your IP could still be shared by other customers of your ISP. Hope I helped clarify it for you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
