Crystal Caves[edit]

Hello Bob, welcome to Wikipedia! If you want Crystal Caves to stay, do not overwrite the copyvio notice—that makes it virtually impossible for us to get rid of the previous copyright infringing text. Follow the instructions and put your non-infringing text at Crystal Caves/Temp. (Your text is now still accessible in the page history at [1], so you can do a copy/paste.) Once the text is on the temp page, I or some other janitor (or admin) will eventually delete the infringing version and move the temp page in its place. Have fun editing! VfD technique[edit]

I corrected a couple of your recent VfD tags, in accordance with the instruction (point 1) at the bottom of VfD to use a "subst" call rather than the default(transclusion) call to the VfD template. I'm not sure what the logic of this practice is, but changes in that instruction have been reverted several times, so i'm confident there's a good reason for it. (Maybe just that doing that is an impediment that cuts down on removals of the VfD tag by vandals and the clueless, who may be confused and intimidated by the formatting codes!) But your instincts look good; hope to see more of your around the 'pedia. --Jerzy(t) 01:25, 2004 Nov 2 (UTC)

I think i know a better reason: MediaWiki can choke on some article names, like KasımpaÅŸalı Emanuel -- or is it Kasımpaşalı Emanuel? -- in some situations; the subst'ed text should be edited to work around the choke, but an editor who sees the default used sometimes, & figures the subst'ed version is just cluelessness, will clobber the workaround. --Jerzy(t) 09:15, 2004 Nov 2 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VI guide on wikibooks[edit]

I finished editing the FF6 guide on wikibooks with a walkthrough and a fair overview of the content, although it's low on media and not as exhaustive as one might like. Curious if you had any comments or knew the way in which it should be linked from the wikipedia Final Fantasy VI page. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/FF6

TLAs[edit]

A proposal has been made at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move TLAs from AAA to DZZ and other related pages to Wikipedia namespace. Please visit Talk:TLAs from AAA to DZZ for the related discussion. -- Francs2000 | Talk 00:27, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

article created at previously VfD'ed location; recreation?[edit]

I am contacting you because you were the admin who closed Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Senor Cardgage, and I recently discovered that someone converted the redirect into an article on Senor Cardgage. I know that re-creation of the actual VfDed content would be illegitimate, but I am less sure of the status if, say, the first article was just extremely poor in quality and this was essentially a new article on the subject. Can you look into this and see what you think?

Userboxes[edit]

Fair use rationale for File:Fantasy World Dizzy Loading Screen.png[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Fantasy World Dizzy Loading Screen.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:11, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
